Recipient of the 2003 America’s Top Dentist Award from Consumers Research Council of America, Dr. Arthur F. Sun is a prosthodontist and dental implantologist specializing in reconstructive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry to treat impaired chewing and rejuvenate smiles. Among over eight thousand licensed dentists practicing in Massachusetts, Dr. Sun is one of only fourteen who are board-certified in prosthodontics, and the only one practicing in Lexington. His expertise in engineering dental prostheses includes inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns, fixed bridges, and removable dentures. With more than twenty years experience, he provides comfortable, state-of-the-art dental treatment adhering to rigorous esthetic and functional standards.

Dr. Sun’s education and training are extensive: National Taiwan University, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, 1979; Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry: Postdoctoral prosthodontic training, 1982; Master of Dental Science in Prosthodontics, 1983; Doctor of Dental Medicine, 1984; Doctor of Dental Science in Prosthodontics, 1985; Brookdale Hospital and New York University: Surgical and restorative implantology training. Board-certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics, Dr. Sun is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. In recognition of his special skills, knowledge, and commitment to lifelong learning and ethical practices in prosthodontics, he is a Diplomate of the American College of Prosthodontics.

Awarded the first Excellence in Teaching Award by postdoctoral dental students at Harvard University, Dr. Sun is a graduate-school faculty member in prosthodontics at Harvard and a Clinical Associate Professor at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. An editorial consultant to the Journal of Oral Implantology and member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, he conducts research in ceramic dental materials and in osseous preservation of dental arches.
